About Sue
Sue practises in the area of commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Sue has practised in this area since her admission in 2014.
Sue acts for a wide range of clients, including individuals, incorporated associations, small to medium enterprises, ASX and HKEX-listed companies, and overseas corporations, primarily in the resources, real estate, import and export and education sectors. Sue also advises statutory bodies, government and non-for-profit clients.
Sue works with clients to resolve litigious and non-litigious disputes arising primarily from contractual breakdown and misleading and deceptive conduct. Sue also has experience advising clients on regulatory compliance, defamation claims, breach of director’s duties, shareholder oppression, infringement of intellectual property, representative proceedings and ASIC prosecutions.

Complex commercial litigation
Acting for a HKEX-listed property development group in a proceeding against an Australian company in relation to a $6 billion joint venture dispute for breach of contract and for misleading and deceptive conduct.
Mining and resources
Acting for various Australian mining and resources companies (private and publicly listed) in share sale, joint venture and farm-in disputes and proceedings against Australian companies, overseas public companies and overseas government owned enterprises.
Cross-border dispute
Acting for a US-based medical device company in a cross-border dispute against an Australian distributor for unpaid medical devices arising under the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
Representative proceeding and ASIC prosecution
Acting for a respondent in a class action pursued by a representative applicant in the Federal Court concerning losses arising from investment funds, and acting for the same respondent in a civil penalty prosecution pursued by ASIC arising from alleged breaches of director’s duties.
Defamation and appeal
Successfully overturning a default judgment in a defamation claim against a client initiated by a service provider who allegedly suffered damages from reviews posted on a Google business page.
Patent litigation
Acting for an overseas home appliance company in a Federal Court proceeding pursued by an Australian company in connection with an alleged infringement of patent.
