About Ian
Ian leads our Tourism Group and is renowned for his sharp knowledge and passion for the industry. He acts for developers large and small, and specialises in master planned and integrated communities and resorts.
Ian has been with the firm for 32 years and a partner for 26. Over this time he has led many strategic and complex property matters for his clients. His property development experience includes commercial, industrial, major retail, residential and tourism ventures such as hotels, resorts and marinas.
His clients appreciate his commercial approach, which ensures matters are dealt with without prolonged negotiations.
Ian is frequently asked to assist the state government in the review and drafting of legislation, including the Land Sales Act 1984 (Qld), Sanctuary Cove Resort Act 1985 (Qld), Integrated Resort Development Act 1987 (Qld) and the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997 (Qld).
His experience and understanding of government requirements, process and priorities are invaluable when it comes to tailoring advice and pursuing favourable outcomes for developments.
