Toowoomba Regional Council Toowoomba Outer Circulating Road
The Outer Circulating Road (OCR) project in Toowoomba’s CBD involved the design and construction of a four-lane extension, a new bridge, doubling the street culvert structure capacity and upgrading creek channels. This project was completed by Council following the reconstruction works that our firm advised on following the catastrophic 2011 floods. The OCR was built to Q500 standards as a consequence.
McCullough Robertson was involved in all aspects of the $45 million project, from tender strategy and project documentation through to completion. Our scope of work involved dealing with various interfaces (including heritage, resumptions, rail and environmental concerns), which were addressed in the tender phase and in the contract.
We also advised Council on any claims resolution at the conclusion of the project. We were able to successfully avoid formal dispute resolution under the contract or in the Courts.
The Outer Circulating Road opened in May 2015 and our team attended the celebrations with Council and the delivery teams of the various contractors, consultants and subcontractors.
