Simon practices in estate litigation, commercial litigation, estate planning, and estate administration. He is an Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation and holds a Master of Laws (Applied Law) in Wills and Estates and Estate Planning.
Simon has extensive experience advising clients in relation to disputed estates (including contested probate applications, will construction and rectification applications, claims for family provision, insolvent estates and the payment of superannuation death benefits) and commercial disputes. He also advises clients in relation to estate planning, including business succession planning and the administration of estates.
He provides support to a range of clients from individuals to charities, professional advisors, company directors, and corporations. He is also an integral member of the McR Private team, supporting our family office and private clients.

Advising in relation to applications for family provision, including claims involving notional estate.

Advising in disputes between executors and deceased estates.
Will construction and rectification proceedings
Advising in relation to a will construction and will rectification application concerning the terms of a testamentary trust.
Insolvent estate
Advising the executor of an insolvent estate with in excess of 30 unsecured creditors and involving issues including the protection of life insurance proceeds from the claims of creditors and complex creditor claims by former business partners of the deceased.
Not-for-profit company
Advising the directors of a not-for-profit company in relation to claims of accessorial liability arising from the directors’ purported participation in breached of the terms of a charitable trust.
