About Liam
As a dedicated project approvals specialist, Liam has advised on the delivery of approvals for some of the largest projects in Australia. He is a resources expert, advising clients on approvals issues from exploration through to production. Liam also has extensive experience in Indigenous community and stakeholder issues, in particular native title and cultural heritage.
Liam’s experience covers project delivery issues, including native title and cultural heritage, mining and petroleum tenement approvals, and environmental approvals. He also regularly assists his clients with government liaison and stakeholder management, compliance and incident response, and project acquisition and divestment.
His hands-on industry experience is broad ranging from resources to government, property developers, Traditional Owners, and the food and agribusiness industry.
Liam understands the need for swift, accurate and commercial advice having previously worked as in-house counsel for two large corporates. He worked with Peabody Energy as Native Title and Cultural Heritage Coordinator and assisted QGC with approvals for the significant QCLNG project.
Known for his down to earth and pragmatic style, Liam is focused on providing practical and commercial advice to his clients.

Advising on native title and cultural heritage issues affecting its Queensland and South Australian operations, including its Western Surat Gas project and Project Atlas.
Evolution Mining
Providing strategic advice on native title and cultural heritage issues affecting projects across Queensland and Western Australia.
Queensland Government
Advising the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads on native title and cultural heritage issues affecting its upgrade of the Peninsula Developmental Road and the Gateway Upgrade North Project.
Carbon industry
Working closely with proponents and the government on an industry solution to the application of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) to carbon projects in Queensland.
Negotiating some of the first native title agreements in Queensland to allow the development of carbon projects across the State.
Far North Queensland
Advising numerous mining clients on approvals issues associated with the development of bauxite assets in Cape York, providing feasibility advice to project proponents in the food and agribusiness industry in Far North Queensland, and advising on landholder issues in the Torres Strait.
