Queensland Treasury Corporation Wild Dog Exclusion Fencing Information Pack
McCullough Robertson, in collaboration with Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC), has developed a comprehensive Wild Dog Exclusion Fencing (WDEF) Information Pack to assist Councils that are considering the delivery of WDEF for landholders across Queensland.
WDEF acts as a first line of defence against wild dogs, preventing them from entering properties and having a significant impact on livestock. WDEF will assist in encouraging residents to take up livestock farming which will strengthen the community and industry.
Specifically, the McCullough Robertson team advised on Council funding arrangements through the levying of special rates and charges, preparation of landowner access agreements and a review of the WDEF Information pack and related material.
This Information Pack is the first of its kind, and helps Councils manage their commercial, borrowing and governance obligations, and mitigate commercial and operational risks in the delivery of WDEF. The pack supports Councils at each stage of delivery for WDEF.
While there are a number of funding options available to Councils and landholders to support WDEF, this Information Pack focuses on funding WDEF through a tailored special rates scheme financed through QTC debt.
