Malabar Resources Limited Malabar Resources Limited and EDFR Solar Project
McCullough Robertson’s Resources and Renewables team has supported Malabar Resources Limited (Malabar) in establishing an incorporated joint venture with EDF Renewables (EDF) to develop a large-scale solar farm and Battery Energy Storage System in the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).
The Edderton Solar Farm will have capacity of around 350MW and is strategically located near robust transmission infrastructure, points of demand, and is co-located with mining and agriculture for optimal land utilisation.
This initiative not only contributes to the region’s diversified investment but also supports Australia’s evolving energy mix. Bringing both local and global expertise, the partnership represents a significant milestone in the establishment of the Hunter-Central Coast REZ, bringing reliable, affordable, and cleaner energy to the Upper Hunter Region while contributing to New South Wales’ journey toward net-zero emissions.
Lead Partner, Damien Clarke comments, “we have proudly worked with Malabar for over a decade, including on significant elements of its Maxwell Mine Project. It is a privilege to have now acted on this important joint venture, and to support Malabar in its commitment to the local area and expansion into the renewable energy sector.”
