Peter has practised in finance law for 30 years and has acted for almost all of the institutional financiers doing business in Australia.
Peter was brought up in a family business and learned the importance of customer service and delivery. Today, being enthusiastic, responsive and empathetic are the cornerstones of his professional life and drives his approach.
He is the relationship partner for many finance clients, particularly the banks and it is a role that he thoroughly enjoys. The strength and longevity of many of these relationships is reflected by his counsel being sought not just for legal purposes, but on a trusted adviser basis.
In his 30 years of doing finance work, there is little that he has not applied himself to and experienced. Equally, over a long career in finance, Peter’s experience acting for financiers has translated into a powerful resource for borrowers.
In recognition of his achievements, Peter was identified in a survey of Australian corporate general counsel as 100 of Australia’s best, published in The Australian newspaper.
Acted for the financiers for the provision of funds to the borrower, a special purpose vehicle controlled by an overseas pension fund, for the acquisition of a $117 million commercial property.
Acted for an Australian Bank in relation to the funding for the development of a new five star hotel in Brisbane.
Acted for an Australian bank on the funding to acquire a Brisbane property and to develop the site into a hotel and serviced apartments complex.
Acted for an Australian bank in providing finance to a borrower for a multi-stage acquisition and development of a relocatable homes complex.
Acted for an Australian bank in the innovative financing of a residential subdivision and 18 hole public golf course where mortgage security was not available.
Acted for an Australian Bank with regard to its funding of consecutive acquisitions of labour hire group entities.
