Claire is a project approvals specialist, with a particular focus on environmental and related legislation. Claire has advised on some of Queensland’s largest and most complex projects, including in the resources and renewable energy sectors.
Claire has provided strategic approval pathway advice for a number of major projects, including assisting clients throughout the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) processes.
She also advises on expanding existing operations and environmental compliance, and the implications of various State and Federal government legislative changes.
In addition to her environmental expertise, Claire supports clients with all aspects of regulatory approvals requirements, strategy and compliance, including planning approvals (for residential, commercial and industrial developments) and other government matters.
Planning and Environment Court appeals
Acting for the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning on a number of appeals in the Planning and Environment Court across a range of State interests.
Australian Wind Farm
Reviewing and advising on the EIS and associated approvals strategy on one of Australia’s largest wind farms.
Contaminated Land Investigations
Advising local and State governments on contaminated land investigations and management, and liability and management for a range of sites affected by historical PFAS usage.
Cross River Rail Project
Advising a consortium on approval requirements, land acquisition processes and stakeholder management in relation to the Cross River Rail project.
Water Pipeline Projects
Advising on approvals and operational requirements for a number of water pipeline projects.
Judicial Review Decisions
Advising on the availability of judicial and merits reviews, and acting in judicial review proceedings in relation to a range of government decisions.
