Known for his commercial approach and friendly manner, his expertise lies in understanding the taxation, legal and commercial issues affecting his clients and their businesses and investments.
Peter’s expertise covers tax planning, structuring and restructuring businesses, asset protection, personal and business succession and estate planning, family business and intergenerational planning, and strategic retirement planning.
Significantly in the mergers and acquisition area, his experience includes transactions valued at over $1 billion with a career highlight being the complex transaction and transformation of a health group to become investor ready.
Focusing on business succession, Peter has acted for large families, offering strategic advice on intergenerational transfers and successions. He has particular strengths in navigating family business dynamics particularly for those involved in the business and siblings who are not.
Additional to his consultant role which sees Peter continue his 30 year plus association with the firm, Peter is also the Founder of Transition Planning Australia. This organisation supports business owners, professionals, and employees, plan their transition from business or full-time work to their next phase addressing both emotional and commercial aspects.

Acted for Australia’s then largest financial services dealer group in a significant investment in the group by a large multinational financial services institution.
Successfully negotiated a joint venture between previously opposing family members for the operation of one of Australia’s largest agricultural businesses.
Advised on a complex $400 million plus merger to form Australia’s largest agribusiness in its sector.
Acted for the founders of one of Australia’s largest Sports Store Chains in a $90 million plus sale to management backed by a private equity firm.
