With commodity prices at rock bottom and share prices depressed, cashed up companies in the energy and resources sector are in a prime position to make strategic acquisitions.  The downturn in the resources sector has put pressure on miners, contractors and related service providers and has already brought about the demise of a number of Australian resources companies including the Forge Group and the Allmine Group.
