Erika is a Senior Associate in the Arbitration group with specialisation in international commercial arbitration and a broad range of general commercial litigation experience. She also has a keen interest in private international law and issues that arise in cross-jurisdictional disputes.
 
Erika acts for a range of clients, including individuals, small and large business, major Australian public companies and multinational corporations with a focus largely on the energy, resources and construction sectors. 
 
Erika’s specialist knowledge of international arbitration allows her to advise clients in relation to arbitration agreements when negotiating contracts, acting as counsel for clients in arbitration proceedings and assisting clients to enforce arbitration agreements and awards in the court system.
 
Her key experience includes: 
  • acting on international arbitration proceedings involving parties in several countries
  • advising on drafting arbitration clauses for new contracts
  • advising on complex issues arising in arbitration and litigation proceedings including obtaining evidence in cross-border arbitration and litigation
  • acting in a multi-million dollar breach of contract litigation, and
  • acting in a special leave application and High Court proceedings on the correct interpretation of a section of the Corporations Act.
