Dan has been practising in the litigation and dispute resolution space for 5 years.  He has experience in acting in litigation in a number of State Courts and both the Federal and Federal Circuit Courts, and has acted for clients in Royal Commissions and Commissions of Inquiry.  He has assisted clients in handling complex, out-of-court and confidential disputes work.  His dispute resolution experience includes significant insolvency work, acting for large financial institutions and directors.

Prior to entering the law, Dan worked in the accountancy profession, as a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  There he developed a range of commercial skills and learned the importance of understanding clients’ business drivers.

Dan has experience across a wide range of matters in identifying the correct legal solutions for clients that are also cost-effective and consider the ‘bigger picture’.  In doing so he strives to ensure that clients get practical advice, and that proceedings are handled with as little as possible disruption to clients’ businesses.

Dan acts for a variety of corporate clients, including private, public (both listed and non-listed) and international companies.
Examples of Dan’s recent work includes:
  • acting for Adani Mining Pty Ltd in its Land Court of Queensland proceedings, successfully obtaining a recommendation for the approval of its proposed A$21 billion Carmichael coal mine in central Queensland
  • acting for Lindsay Australia Limited in professional negligence proceedings brought by two of its subsidiaries against their former solicitors in the Supreme Court of Queensland
  • acting for the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland Limited and other companies in the RACQ group in defending Federal Circuit Court proceedings brought by former agents and contractors alleging unconscionable conduct and other breaches of the Australian Consumer Law
  • acting for two related clients in the regional transport/infrastructure sector, in disputes with contractual counterparties, and
  • acting for a global mining services client in a variety of disputes with Australian agents.
