Resources group at McCullough Robertson gains new partner

Internationally recognised energy and resources lawyer Susan O’Rourke has joined Queensland’s largest law firm, McCullough Robertson.
With over 25 years experience in advising on major mergers and acquisitions and infrastructure projects in the minerals (iron ore, coal, nickel, uranium) oil and gas, LNG, coal seam methane and petrochemicals sectors O’Rourke brings invaluable expertise and knowledge to the firm’s resources clients nationally, according to Chairman Brett Heading.
Heading said O’Rourke will start with the firm as Partner from 1 July 2011 and will be working across both our Brisbane and Sydney offices providing strategic advice to major clients.
‘Susan’s strength is the ability to get inside an organisation to deliver creative and effective legal solutions that are tailored to meet each client’s unique situation and commercial objectives,’ Heading said.
‘She brings a much sought after combination of cross-border expertise, commercial judgement, industry knowledge, creative problem-solving and project management skills.’
Susan O’Rourke has lived and worked in Asia and practised in the Middle East. She has broad experience in both the private and government sectors and as an industry leader has published widely in Australia, China and the Asia-Pacific region.
