McCullough Robertson named Employer of Choice for Women 2011
6 March 2011
For the second year in a row, McCullough Robertson has been named an Employer of Choice for Women by the Federal Government’s Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA).
Chairman of Partners, Brett Heading, said the firm was delighted to receive the citation, the premier Employer of Choice award in Australia.
‘The criteria are very strict, so we are very proud to have achieved this citation two years in a row,’ Mr Heading said.
‘We have worked very hard and will continue to work hard to generate positive outcomes for women in the legal sector.
Our professional development opportunities, mentoring programs, leadership development and ongoing support for female employees permeate our firm from our administrative staff through to senior associates and partners.
Our commitment to the advancement of women in law comes from the top down and I personally mentor senior women lawyers.
We also work with our employees to help them meet family commitments and achieve a work-life balance, by providing flexible hours and working from home arrangements,’ Mr Heading said.
The EOWA investigates a number of different factors including policies and practices around recruitment and selection, flexibility, promotion, remuneration, training and leadership, and specific diversity initiatives.
With a Diversity Initiatives Committee in place to implement the program, McCullough Robertson is looking to the future and leading the way in promoting women in law, industry and business.
‘We won’t be resting on our laurels but will continue to work towards the promotion of women to senior management levels in the corporate and private sector.’
