Senior Associate Liam Davis of leading Australian independent law firm, McCullough Robertson has been recognised as one of the best lawyers under the age of 30 in Australia.

Liam was named as one of the three winners in the Energy and Resources category at the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 awards in Sydney on Friday night.

Liam’s win this year, his second in a row, makes a hat trick for the firm in the Energy and Resources category with Senior Associate Emma Murray named as one of the winners in the inaugural year.

Through his work in project approvals, Liam has been committed to Indigenous community and stakeholder issues, in particular native title and cultural heritage.  Working in the firm and on secondment, clients have appreciated his ability to work with Traditional Owners across complex regulatory matters.

“Right from when Liam started with the firm as a graduate we could see he was set for a bright future” said Dominic McGann, McCullough Robertson Chairman of Partners.  “Liam has become a highly sought after lawyer and it’s immensely rewarding to see him gain this wider industry recognition.”

Further testament to the firm’s commitment to recruiting and developing outstanding young talent is Senior Associate Andrew Poulton being named as a runner up for his exceptional work in the Dispute Resolution category.

“In Andrew, our commitment to recognising and nurturing the best young talent is well placed. He is truly an outstanding lawyer and a future leader in Dispute Resolution.”

“McCullough Robertson invests in building the careers of young lawyers.  This year alone we had 12 graduates commence with us in February we see this as vital to the future of the firm.” said Mr McGann.

Now in its third year, the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 awards was the largest so far, with over 200 submissions received across 10 categories.  The awards are open to commercial and in-house Australian lawyers under the age of 30.
