Celebrating the commencement of the construction phase for Jewel

Last week marked the official signing of the design and construction contract for Wanda Ridong’s iconic $1 billion Jewel Project on the Gold Coast.

McCullough Robertson has advised on all aspects of the project including most recently the procurement and tender process for the project, including the final appointment of Brookfield Multiplex as the building contractor.

Brett Hawkins, Partner at McCullough Robertson and lead adviser on the project said his team is proud to have assisted Wanda Ridong to achieve such a significant milestone.

“Our team has been involved from the start and we are delighted to see the project reach this stage, given its ongoing significance to the Gold Coast and Queensland economies.  It was our honour to be present at the official signing ceremony,” said Brett.

Negotiation of the legal aspects of the building contract leading to the appointment of Brookfield Multiplex was handled by Partner, Michael Rochester and Lawyer, Joseph Jones.

“McCullough Robertson remains engaged to assist with contract management, and is more broadly committed to provide Wanda Ridong with all legal assistance required on the Project,” said Michael.

When completed, the Jewel development will comprise three towers including over 500 residential apartments, retail spaces and a 5 star hotel.

McCullough Robertson is also advising the Wanda Group on its landmark $1billion project at Circular Quay in Sydney.
