Applications for our 2012 winter and summer vacation clerk programs will open on Monday,
27 February 2012 and close on Monday, 26 March 2012 (5:00pm AEST). To apply, please refer to our 'Current Opportunities' during that time.
Our Vacation Clerk Program allows students to gain exposure to the inside workings of a commercial law firm, while becoming familiar with the McCullough Robertson ethos. During your time with our firm, you will be encouraged to become an integral member of the team and participate in all facets of firm life, from client interactions to social events.
Practice group placement
You will be placed in one practice group for the entire four week period, allowing you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skill within the one area, while becoming comfortable in your team environment and surroundings. It also allows you to observe and participate in the group and firm culture on an ongoing daily basis for the four week period. You will also be invited and encouraged to attend social functions and activities during your time with us.
Development Program - key features
Vacation clerks are readily immersed in the firm’s culture and are encouraged to participate in continued learning and development. Key features of the program are:
- introduction to the firm's history, structure and a commercial practice
- firm tour
- information technology and law library training
- the opportunity to meet our graduates
- specially designed programs on: CV building, career management, the graduate recruitment process, team building and networking skills
- opportunities to participate in the firm’s CLE (Continuing Legal Education) program which is designed to demonstrate the continued focus on the development of our lawyers.
