McCullough Robertson advises in Anatara Lifesciences capital raising
Partner Reece Walker, Senior Associate Ben Wood and Lawyer Naomi Benton have advised on a $9 million capital raising for Anatara Lifesciences. Since its IPO in October last year the company has undertaken successful field trials of its lead drug Detach™ and doubled its market capitalisation.
Anatara’s drug is a non-antibiotic solution to a leading cause of mortality in the pig industry and will also contribute to the fight against anti-microbial resistance by removing antibiotics from the food chain (up to 80% of all antibiotics are used in livestock production). Future trials may open the door to treatment in the beef and poultry industries, as well as potential human applications.
The company has also just announced a successful Strategic Collaboration Agreement with the Commonwealth Government funded Pork Cooperative Research Centre, connecting Anatara with key industry players and opening important international links, including the USA. Our intellectual property team advised on the detailed and protracted negotiations with the Pork CRC.
